Matthew 10:18
“You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.”
God has determined that all peoples know who He is and what He can do for them. God has decided to make His name known to every segment of society by whatever means possible. So, God may orchestrate for us to be ushered into unexpected places and unexpected situations, for us to be His witnesses in those regions.
We must always be ready to speak and shine as His light even in unpleasant circumstances. Jesus told His disciples to be prepared for persecution, but they must understand persecution within the context of bearing the testimony of Christ before their persecutors, judges, and governors. Jesus was indeed ushering them into the palaces and courthouses through the channels of persecution, so that they may be His witnesses there. We must not concentrate on the pain of the situation or the inconvenience of the external experience. We must focus on the task given to us, of bearing His name among those who castigate and oppose us. Be ready for these God ordained and sometimes unpleasantly unexpected opportunities.
“Father, I want to be Your witness, but I would prefer to so be without pains and discomfort; yet I concede that it may require a painful pathway to bring Your testimony into certain sections of society. Therefore, I pray for the grace, the alertness and the willingness to serve You in every situation, knowing that You are there in every context and Your desire is for Your name to be known to all peoples. Amen.”
