Matthew 12:29
“Or how can one enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.”
The secret of victory is in merely putting first things first. It is good to have grand plans and clear strategies, but these are futile if we don’t put the right priority first. It’s good to apply great effort to a task and to work tirelessly to achieve success, but we must set the right priorities first. Before any real progress can be recorded, the primary asset needed in the transaction is spiritual warfare because there is always a strong man at the gates to ensure that we fail to reach our goals and achieve our targets.
We must return to the priority of personal a,nd corporate spiritual warfare and intercession. If we fail at this junction, we cannot win at any other thing we strive to do. Victory must be secured first of all in the spirit, before victory can manifest in the physical. My greatest weakness has been the discipline to remain in the place of spiritual confrontation, and I believe this has limited the scope of victory that could have been mine. This is, therefore, a call to return to the lost art and discipline of warfare prayers, not as an occasional event, but as a lifestyle that secures personal breakthrough in all spheres of operation. The strongman must be dealt with before you can enter into the plunder.
“Oh Father, the first strongman that must be confronted is the strongman of laziness in the place of prayer. Deliver me from this weakness and grant me the inner strength to apply myself to warfare prayers. In Jesus name. Amen.”
