THE SIGN OF THE NEW MAN

June 5, 2018

Matthew 12:44

“Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.”

The words above were spoken by the demon cast out of the life of the old man who is now made new. But before we can talk of the new man, we must understand what the old man represents. The old man is the man in whom demons dwell. The old man portrays the man in whom there is internal chaos and confusion; a life overwhelmed with junk from the pits of hell. The old man smells and distributes his foul odor of sin and sinfulness wherever he goes. But when Jesus meets the old life and takes it over, four things happen: the demons are cast out, the life is emptied of all junk, Jesus sweeps away the remnants of the old habits, and the life is rearranged for the glory of God. This is amazing.

I am excited because this is what Jesus did to me. He indeed kicked out the demons of lust and evil desires and all forms of addictions to sin. He emptied me of the junk of my sinful nature and evil roots. He then began taking away my sinful habits and practices, sweeping my life clean of the old traditions that perpetuated sin. And then finally, He rearranged my focus in life, giving me a new heaven-centered identity and God-filled purpose. Is that not awesome? This is what God does in the new man He creates in Christ Jesus. This is a splendid and fantastic work of Jesus, making Him worthy of continuous worship by those who have partaken of this mercy. Hallelujah.

“Hallelujah my God. Halleluya. I know Satan wants me back, but He can’t get me anymore. Am swept, cleaned and rearranged for God’s glory. Hallelujah. Now I need to go with God to bring other sons and daughters into the same experience. Hallelujah to You Jesus. Amen.”
