SECURING PEACE OF MIND

Matthew 14:32

“And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.”

While Jesus walked on water, the storm still raged. When Peter walked on water, the storm still raged. While the discussions with Jesus were going on, the storm still raged. But once Jesus got into their boat, the storm ceased. Isn’t that amazing?

So, don’t stop at the wonder of seeing Jesus walk on water. Don’t stop at the joy of experiencing some personal miracle. The ultimate goal is to ensure that Jesus is in the boat of your life. The only way to ensure the storms don’t drown you is by making sure He is in your boat. In this account, Jesus did not even rebuke the storm. The mere fact that He entered the boat was sufficient for the winds to know that the game was over. Jesus is the end of the storms of life. All those inner struggles and turmoil will cease the moment Jesus takes His place. The winds may still blow on the outside, but inside the boat of your soul, there will be quietness and stillness. Praise God.

“Jesus, I feel the storm building on the inside, and I know that only in Your presence will the internal storms cease. Come Jesus again. Come, Lord. Amen.”
