Matthew 15:28
“Then Jesus answered and said to her, ‘O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.’ And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”
Several things provoke God to respond, but three things stand out in this story. The first thing was that when Jesus refused to answer her initially, she came the second time again and worshipped before asking again. Worship provoked Jesus to speak to her. Secondly, she persisted in her request despite all the rejections and denials she faced. She knew her need was grave and she just refused to give up. And thirdly, all these were motivated by her faith in Jesus. She knew He alone had the answer to her problem.
We must approach Jesus in worship, remain steadfast in making our requests known to Him and keep believing in His power and ability to respond. Jesus may seem to delay, but He wants to see how we respond to His seeming denial of our request. May we press forward in worship and persistent faith. Jesus will respond.
“Lord Jesus, I will not give up. I trust in You, and I have no substitutes. So, I will pursue after You and wait for You, until You respond. I worship You Lord. Amen.”
