Matthew 16:6
“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.’ ”
The danger with falsehood and false doctrines is that they creep in slowly especially when the channels are people of reputation and importance in the society. Falsehood and false doctrines are most especially dangerous because they come with authority and reason, weakening your ability to detect it on the surface. And like yeast, tiny portions of such doctrines and errors are sufficient to contaminate large numbers of people; and they spread very quickly.
We must be vigilant for ourselves, for our loved ones and for our churches. The yeast of unclean doctrines is spreading rapidly, being promoted by respectable religious leaders and icons in society. But these are doctrines of devils, and we must paint them publicly as such. Because these yeast components spread ever so quickly, we must likewise be quick to counter produce our responses to them. Vigilance must, therefore, go beyond being defensive. We must attack the fast-spreading yeast in our society before the contamination totally pollutes the simple-minded in our midst.
“Father, I choose to engage in warding off the pollution stemming from falsehoods around us. I will be vigilant and watchful, not just for myself but also for those whom I love. Help me, Lord, to so do, in Jesus name. Amen.”
