THE PRESENCE

Matthew 17:6-7

“And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, ‘Arise, and do not be afraid.’ ”

We are yet to enter the very Presence of the Most High. If and when God Almighty chooses to visit a person, that moment can be the most glorious, and joyful but also the most frightening experience ever. When God overshadows you, it is not funny. The Presence of the Most High overwhelms and humbles any standing man.

I cannot stand before God. Unless heaven upholds me, I cannot stand in the Presence of the Almighty. The Majesty of His Presence and the Wonder of His voice is more than what a man can handle. Fear at the grandeur of His presence is the only understandable response if God shows Himself to a living human soul. But who would not give his right arm for this frightful experience? I am sure that the disciples were never the same again after entering this great experience and am sure their view of life was drastically changed from the other disciples who were not at the transfiguration. One of my greatest desires is to experience God in His glory, and even if I am struck down in a dead fright, I know my life will be permanently changed forever. “O God, visit me in this way. Amen.”

“Yes, Almighty Father, visit me in this unique way. Let me experience Your Grand Presence; not in a dream but in reality. O God, as I walk with Jesus on the mountain of discipleship, visit me in this unique way O God Almighty. In Jesus name. Amen.”
