RADICAL CONSECRATION

August 18, 2018

Matthew 18:8-9

“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed…And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you…”

Nothing is worth making me lose heaven, absolutely nothing. No matter how critical and vital that thing is; it is not crucial enough to deny me access to the kingdom of heaven. I must be ready to take extreme actions against everything that is warring against my upward journey. Whatever thing in me that is becoming a drag or a hindrance in my race to the kingdom, that thing must go, irrespective of how much I love it.

This is the real test of radical consecration. Those things we love desperately are usually the things that contend with us most on our heavenward journey. And the proof of our radicalism is in our willingness to sacrifice those things that could adversely affect our race. A cancerous organ must be excavated so that other organs are preserved. Whatever has the potential to entice us away from heaven has become an instrument of hell, and we must be radical enough to remove such from our system. The outcome of this test may determine where we spend our eternity.

“Father I plead with You, grant me the boldness and earnestness to evacuate from my life, everything that poses a danger to my losing heaven. May I show it no mercy whatsoever. In Jesus name. Amen.”
