Matthew 19:12
“…and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He who is able to accept it, let him accept it.”
A eunuch is someone who has refused to or has lost his ability to perform sexual intercourse with a partner. While some are born eunuchs, and others are forced to become eunuchs, there is a strange category of people who choose to be eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom. These people are ordinary like everyone else, but they have entered into a supreme moral consecration that constrains their desire and limits what their body is willing and able to do. It must be noted that these persons may have feelings that are normal like others but because of their consecration, they refuse certain feelings from finding expression.
As eunuchs of the kingdom, may we likewise deaden every desire that contradicts the ways of the kingdom. There must be a deliberate and intensive decision to deny ourselves of certain acceptable and agreeable desires and practices, for the sole reason of living a higher consecrated life. Some things can distract, limit or weaken our spiritual progress in the ways of the kingdom, and our desire to rise above these will demand that we put certain “fiery limitations” on ourselves. For such as are willing to walk on the noble path of the eunuch consecration, such shall experience the deeper volumes of the kingdom life.
“Lord Jesus, in Your name, I choose the fiery consecration of personal limitations, that I may enjoy the eternal blessings of living the life of the kingdom. As a kingdom eunuch, Father, show me those earthly distractions that will hinder my pilgrim journey, and I seek Your grace to disconnect myself from all such things, in Jesus name. Amen.”
