Matthew 20:31
“Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, ‘Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!’ ”
I’ve never understood why the multitudes were so strict with these two blind men. Maybe they expected them to accept their fate in life and not seek for anything more. Maybe they felt they were making a request that was too unrealistic. Maybe they felt they were being a public nuisance by their noise. But whatever the reason, it was grossly unfair for them to seek to cut off their chances to better themselves. Praise God that these blind men knew when not to give in to intimidation, hence their decision to cry out the more.
Refuse to be silenced. In this life, only Jesus has the solution to all your problems. Refuse those doctrines and teachers who wish you to remain in your poverty and blindness. There is more we can receive from Jesus. If only we can cry out the more, He will surely hear us and shower us with mercy. True faith leans on the mercy and goodwill of God. Don’t be silent, because Jesus is passing by, and He has the solution to your situation. Cry out to Him ever more earnestly.
“O Jesus, I cry out to You with all my heart. Have mercy on me and touch my blindness. Only You are my hope for restoration and renewal. My miracle is tied to You Jesus. O Messiah, have mercy on me. Amen.”
