HOW DO YOU COME ACROSS?

Matthew 21:9

“…Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”

How do you come across? Do you come across as someone who is complete in himself without the need of God? Do you come across as someone full of himself? How do you come across and how do people perceive you? This is vital because people’s response to us depends on how they perceive us, and how they perceive us is linked to how we present ourselves.

Although Jesus was the Son of David in the flesh, the people saw Him not as One who came as Son of David, but One who came in the name of the Lord. Jesus never prided himself in His Davidic ancestry because that had no value in the eternal scheme of things which He had come to enforce. To accomplish His destiny, He knew He had to come in the name of the Lord God Almighty; and by that name and in that name, was the source and channel of all He needed for life and ministry. In whose name have I come? In whose name have you come? Do people detect that you represent and stand for the Lord and it is in His name you have come? Is it evident to all?

“Lord, my physical ancestry or my human name has no real value in God’s eternal plan for me. Help me to fix my eyes on You and to do all in Your name alone. Amen.”
