THE STONE OF BREAKING

October 20, 2018

Matthew 21:44

“And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

Jesus is the Stone of God that cannot be taken for granted. In righteousness, He is the singular most influential personality in the history of mankind. Whether we accept it or not, He is the One Person that we cannot successfully negate or neglect. He changes anyone who interacts with Him. We cannot meet with this Stone and remain the same.

If we choose to fall on Him, He will break us. In this situation, we come and voluntarily throw ourselves at His mercy and pour our oil at His feet. When we do this, He takes us and breaks the Old Nature in us before He begins the painful process of reforming us. True regeneration starts at the point of breaking. For we who have willingly thrown ourselves on this Rock, we accept the painful process of molding, which involves breaking down old paradigms, habits, systems and old ways. But we know that after the breaking process is complete, a whole new being will be presented to God, “without spot or wrinkle,” a new Man wholly accepted and acceptable by God. Hallelujah.

“Yes Jesus, I fall on You. I know it will hurt, but unless You do Your work of breaking, I have no hope of a future with God. So again, Lord, I say to You, break me and do Your work of reformation on me. Amen.”
