WHO ARE THE CHOSEN?

Matthew 22:14

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

God has invited everyone, and all are called, but who then are the chosen? Does God have a selected number of people and a secret list through whom He chooses those who He really wants in His Kingdom? No, this is not the case. All are welcomed, and all can be selected, but not all will be chosen because not all will submit themselves to the divine pattern.

Jesus says to men, “Come to me,” and those who come are the chosen. Jesus says, “Be born again,” and those who accept the work and blood of atonement, are chosen. Jesus says, “Be baptized in the Holy Spirit,” and those who walk under the daily guidance of the Spirit of God are chosen. For as many who sincerely turn to God through the sanctifying work of the Blood of Atonement and daily obey the leadership of God’s Spirit, these are chosen. God does not have a secret list of favored people. Everyone is called, and everyone can be chosen, but the determination of who will be selected is not in the hands of God, but in our hands.

“Father, I am chosen because I am under my Lord’s canopy; and by faith and through grace, I will remain chosen even as I stay focused on obeying Your every precept. Help me, O God, for I cannot afford to slide away from Your presence. In Jesus name. Amen.”
