FAKE JUDGES

November 20, 2018

Matthew 23:24

“Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!”

Jesus’ harsh stand against the Scribes and Pharisees was primarily because of their hypocritical attitudes and approach to spiritual matters. Because they usually started off on the premise of their own righteousness, they always saw others as the sinners, and despite their obvious personal sinful activities, they never focused on their own personal failings.

May I not be a blind leader who can see the tiny freckles and spots in others, but cannot see the enormous areas of lapses in my own life. My desire is not to be a fake judge; judging others for the minutest failure, while excusing myself from my own faults. No. On the contrary, may I be willing to let others off the hook for their small mistakes while being harsh on my areas of personal failure.

“Hear my cry, O Lord, and help me never live my life in such falsehood above. Amen”
