Matthew 24:9-11
“…and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”
The Last Days are chaotic days, and I marvel at the messages I hear in our churches today, promising health and wealth for the believer. Don’t we read the prophetic words of Jesus? The Last Days are not days of health and wealth as much as days of tribulation, uncertainty and chaos. We will be hated by all nations, not because we are evildoers but because we love Christ. There’ll be nothing we need to do to be hated; just being a genuine follower of Christ alone is sufficient for us to be hated by all men and all nations.
It’ll be hard to know whom to trust because betrayal will be rife. People will hate themselves and hate others, and even betray family and friends. And falsehood will be multiplied everywhere. It’ll be difficult to know who is speaking by the authority of the Lord because many will claim to be from God and will be calling on the name of Christ but operating by the powers of hell. These things have already come upon us and we need to respond with military vigilance and ruthless faith. We need to dig in and expect the worse, even as the chaos spreads and deepens. This is the reality of living in these final days and we have to accept it.
“Lord, You know we don’t want pain and discomfort and You know we love our lives all well planned out in safety and wellbeing. So Lord, help my heart not to follow the pattern of men but may I resolve to accept these signs of the end times and be determined not to cave in to the chaos around me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
