KEEPING THE SAVED, SAVED!

Matthew 24:21-22

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.  And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

I am not discussing the different theological and eschatological differences of whether we live in the pre-Tribulation, Tribulation or post-Tribulation era. Yet, we can see two definite things from these words of Jesus: “there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be…but for the elect’s sake, those days will be shortened.” (1) There will be unbelievable tribulation and (2) this time of tribulation would be shortened for the sake of the elect of God. These words are so encouraging because God is willing and able to intercept the natural course of events so that His elect do not get lost.

I am precious to God. When persecutions, trials and troubles seem to overwhelm me, I know Jesus will intervene. He is keenly observing every trial I am facing and He is working to ensure that the difficulties I face will not truncate His primary agenda to save me and keep me saved. There are conditions that if left long enough, could make the believer leave his treasured estate in Christ. Jesus knows this. He saw it firsthand with His disciples. So, He is watching each situation jealously to ensure that the elect is never put in an extended situation of persecution that is beyond the grace they have to bear. That’s the love and commitment Jesus has for the elect and I appreciate this.

“Thank You Jesus for ensuring that we stay saved. Thank You for not remaining silent when we are getting overwhelmed. Thank You for I know You will shorten my trials before they overwhelm me or crash my faith. Thank You so much Jesus. Amen.”
