Matthew 24:46-47
“Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.”
God doesn’t just ask us to manage the resources He’s given us for nothing. If we do maintain good stewardship of the resources of God, this will lead to an increment and promotion. God is looking for good stewards to manage His estate and while we serve Him on earth, He’s carefully observing our discipline and carefulness in managing the resources bestowed on us.
There are four resources we need extreme diligence in managing. The first is time. Time is a precious resource which we all receive the same quantity of, but what we do with this heavenly resource is vital to where we end up. Our bodies are another vital resource. If we abuse our body through neglect or overuse, this certainly brings disapproval from God. Our talents or gifts are another vital resource. These are things God has given to us, not for our betterment, but for the betterment of all. If we use them properly, this will bring gladness to man and to God. Our relationships are another vital resource. From our family relationships and casual relationships, to our work relationships, these are heaven ordained resources needing cultivation and proper management. So, while others may abuse the resources handed over to them to manage, I must be diligent to steward mine correctly, knowing that there is surely a promotion and great reward for this.
“Jesus, I commit to be a good steward of every grace and gift handed over to me. Help me Jesus to fulfill this vow. In Your name, I pray. Amen”.
