Matthew 25:5-6

“But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ ’’

“Stay alert my son. Stay awake. I am coming soon and you must be ready for my return. Don’t slumber as many of my children are. Stay alert and prepared for My return is soon.”

I hear the Lord sound the trumpet in my spirit. I hear the call to vigilance. So much is being done and we are so busy, but Jesus is not moved by our extra busyness. Jesus is re-inviting us into the life of watchfulness. Don’t judge your level of preparedness by those around you. Remember that everyone is asleep but some are asleep having prepared ahead. I must prepare ahead so that irrespective of what happens, I am ready.

“Although You have delayed, O Lord, help me stay awake and alert. Help me not to join the foolish that sleep without preparing. Please Lord. Help me. Amen.”
