THE UNBELIEVABLE PHRASE!

Matthew 25:11-12

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ ”

On that day, Jesus will wait for no one. Those who are ready will enter the Banquet with Him and those who are not will be left outside. When the foolish Virgins finally found the oil for their lamps and sought to enter, the Lord said, “I do not know you.” There cannot be a more painful phrase said to any individual or group of people; and while it will be spoken to some, I pray it will not be said to us, in Jesus name. The Virgins were not ordinary people. The Virgins were not unbelievers. They knew when the Master arrived but they were unprepared.

May I never hear this terrible phrase or partake in this unbelievable tragedy. My life is presently full of distractions. Everything is fighting to keep me busy and occupied and I know this is from Satan himself. The greatest tragedy that could happen to me is to be busy and not notice when the levels of my oil have dropped. Why let the world fill me with activities when the only thing that matters is to be ready for my Lord’s return?

“O Lord, You are the only Prize I desire. Every other thing is a shadow. The world keeps lying to me and filling me with distractions. O Lord Jesus, disconnect me from all vanities and keep my heart always ready for Your return. May I never hear that terrifying phrase. In Your name, I plead. Amen.”
