Matthew 26:18
“And He said, ‘Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, “The Teacher says, ‘My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.’ “ ‘”
The greatest privilege of my life is having Jesus select me to meet a need in His heart. Isn’t this amazing? From the crowds of people He could have chosen from, Jesus has chosen me to be among His selected few through whom He would accomplish His assignments on earth. What an honor! There cannot be a greater and higher privilege.
So how dare we complain as we serve Jesus? Don’t we see that Jesus is honoring us when He comes to use our weak and feeble utensils for His glory? There cannot be a greater blessing in this our fragmented existence, than for the Almighty to choose us to meet a need in His life. In this passage, we don’t know who the “certain man” was, but for the Teacher to request for his place to have the Passover meal, the man must have felt the weight of the honor bestowed on him. Oh! How we ought to see serving Jesus as a glorious privilege, not as an arduous unrewarding task.
“Father, forgive me where I had complained in the past. It is my highest privilege to serve You, no matter how difficult it is. Take all of me for Your glory. In Jesus name. Amen.”
