Matthew 26:31
“I will strike the Shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.”
The verse above referred to the striking of Christ and the scattering of the disciples. This principle however is not limited to what happened to Christ. Satan has perfected the art of scattering the work of God through targeting leaders. Satan knows that if he can succeed to compromise a leader, it will inadvertently affect the followers. So why bother chasing followers when with one blow on the right person, you can neutralize them all?
We are all leaders, and as leaders, we have an influence over somebody. Whether as a parent, a sibling, a teammate, a boss or a businessperson, we all exert influence over others in some way. God’s vision is to fortify your life so that you can touch others through your concentrated life. Satan’s vision however is to weaken our passion and spiritual intensity, so that we become impotent and irrelevant in society. When we fall or fail, others around us also fall and fail. For me, standing strong for God is not an option because so many other lives are intertwined with mine. If not for my sake, for their sakes as well; I must stand strong by God’s grace.
“Father, Your Son Jesus did not fall or fail. You permitted the enemy to have momentary success over Him because You knew that it would lead to a greater ultimate victory for Him. Father, may I not fall or fail. Keep me strong for Your glory sake but also for the sake of those whom You have ordained my life to influence. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
