Matthew 26:65
“Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, ‘He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!’ ”
It’s a big joke to think that you are so important that you can judge your Creator. It’s one thing to say that you don’t understand Him and therefore you can seek further understanding, but you don’t have any right to think you are knowledgeable enough to prove your Creator wrong. As weak, tender and as small as we are, why should we dare to question the words or claims of Christ?
This high priest was totally lost because he had somehow gotten so used to his power, that it blinded him completely to realize the blasphemy of his own very words. He judged the Christ as having spoken blasphemy while he himself was the one in blasphemy. May we never get used to any position of power to the point of thinking that we can totally decode Jesus. No matter how much knowledge we have, we must submit that we still don’t know enough. We’ll be kidding ourselves to think that we know enough to fully understand everything about Christ. Jesus is beyond and above all we can ever think or imagine, and we practice blasphemy to think otherwise.
“Oh Jesus, You are above my imagination or understanding. Help me embrace You and Your Words, even when I don’t understand them. In Your name, I plead. Amen.”
