Romans 14:22 (NKJV)
“…Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.”
For the life that is immersed in God, his innermost being and whispering conscience will guide him on what is approved by God and what is not. Because there are so many grey areas in our daily life, we need to ensure that our spirits are deeply saturated with God and in God, so that we can naturally approve what God approves and disapprove what God disapproves. This cannot be done through human thinking and human reasoning. Only God by His Spirit can lead us in the narrow way of heavenward thinking and Godward perception.
Once we are sure that our convictions are from God, and that we are on God’s pathway for our lives (which may differ from God’s pathway for someone else,) blessed are we. According to NLT, “Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.” We are blessed when we do what we believe is right, and we should not feel guilty about it because it is different from what others are doing. Once we are sure that God is in it with us, we should reject all forms of external and internal condemnation. Seek the face of God always, and once you can get heaven’s nod of approval, then walk straight and stand tall. You are on safe ground, even if everyone else thinks you are sinking.
“Lord, immersing myself always in You and ensuring I am always seeing Your face is my greatest challenge. Help me Lord to succeed in this discipline, for thereafter, I can then be bold to stand tall on my convictions – knowing they are received from You. In Your name I pray. Amen.”
