1 Samuel 2:1 (NKJV)
“…’My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.’”
It is possible to still rejoice even when things are not going as you expect, but this must be rejoicing in the Lord. When we hope in God, we can rejoice even in the days of adversity. Why? Because it is only God who is able to bring salvation. Only God saves and only God can bring us out of the dunghill. We rejoice because of God, not because of circumstances.
Our enemies will not leave us alone, but we can smile even at the face of our enemies. This is what faith does. Faith makes you see God more than you see your enemies. God is more than Satan, and the children of God are greater than the children of Satan. I will smile even if the enemy surrounds me. Why? Because it is only God who has the final verdict, and only God can save. I rejoice despite the enemy. I smile in the face of adversity. All because of God.
“It’s because of You Lord that I can smile. It’s because of You Lord that I can overcome my fears. It’s because of You Lord, that I am not overcome. Keep me rejoicing Lord, despite the circumstances
