IGNITION!

August 14, 2024

1 Samuel 17:52 (NKJV)
“Now the men…arose and shouted, and pursued the Philistines as far as the entrance of the valley and to the gates of Ekron…”

Once David had slain Goliath, the Philistines fled for their lives. With their leader gone, they had no one to look up to for guidance, courage, and inspiration.

Without their leader, they were vulnerable, and they knew it.

Everyone needs a leader. Everyone needs someone to look up to. Everyone needs guidance from someone else.

The Philistines were only as strong as their leader. But the same applied to David’s men.

Once the men saw David cut off Goliath’s head, they suddenly became bold and capable. Something ignited within their hearts. A fighting spirit was reborn and rekindled. Why was this? Because they had found a leader.

You need a leader. I need a leader. While the Lord Jesus is our Supreme Leader, He works through people.

We all need people who ignite us and who we can look up to as examples in the pathways we sense God has called us to.

But we don’t just need leaders. We are called to become leaders who ignite others as well.

There are so many people who are hungry for truth, for spiritual substance, for depth, and for more of God. And you have these things.

Don’t shy away from your leadership. “The men arose and shouted, and pursued.” David had given them hope. David had done what they all wished they could do. David had liberated them on the inside.

That’s ignition.

Go out and liberate many brethren who want more than what they are currently getting. They need someone to “ignite the shout” within them, and rally them to “pursue.”

There is a dormant spiritual army out there, waiting for David.

Make sure you have a David in your life. You may not be entering your full potential without him.

Also, make sure you are David to someone else. This is God’s pattern for spiritual reproduction and ignition. Someone must ignite someone.
