1 Samuel 2:35 (NKJV)
“Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.”
God expects us to live for Him. God expects us to live to execute what is in His heart and mind. God has a will and a purpose. There are specific things that God wants for His creation, and there are specific ways He wants things done. God is not random. God is intelligent, determined, and focused on what He wants to do. But God has chosen to work through Man. God has chosen to “limit Himself” through the activities of His chosen ones. That is why He hurts and suffers pain when we do not conform to His will and His ways. He has too much at stake, and He cannot change His pattern now. We are His hands and feet on the earth. We are His instruments on earth. God expects us to live by and live for His heart’s desires.
And to such as walk accordingly, God promises immeasurable blessings in this life and eternity. God says, “I will establish his family.” –NLT. God wants people who will “serve His interests” and live for His interests alone. The faithful priest is that Saint who does not have a purpose that contradicts the purpose of God. God might overlook what others do, but God cannot ignore what His chosen priests do. He is bound to them in an intimate covenant. They are supposed to be connected to Him in deeply complex ways. Our hearts are supposed to beat with His heart. Our minds are supposed to be in unbroken fellowship with His mind. He wants us to think what He is thinking. He wants us to feel what He is feeling. At every moment. That is God’s desire. The only way His purpose will become a reality on earth is if we don’t violate this pattern. Can we be His voice, His heart, and His mind on earth?
