Bewitching

Galatians 3:1 (NKJV)

‘O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?’

Witchcraft is real and it works to achieve different goals and purposes. Some witchcrafts are out to kill you physically while others are simply out to cripple you or afflict someone you love. But there is a witchcraft that makes you foolish; makes you unable to focus on and pursue what you truly believe. This is the witchcraft that attacks your mind and inadvertently, your spiritual beliefs. The fact that the Galatians who once believed the crucifixion of Jesus and its impact on their lives; and were now doubting that experience, was complete foolishness born out of spiritual distraction.

Don’t fear the bewitching that can cause bodily harm. Fear that bewitching that quietly penetrates your heart and brings logic to bear on your mind, so as to lead you away from the cross of Jesus; for Satan knows that once your eyes are no longer transfixed on Christ’s death and resurrection, your spiritual life will amount to nothing. The purpose of this type of bewitching is to make us fools who turn away from the centrality of Christ. It is complete foolishness to hold unto any other system outside of the cross of Christ. This is the witchcraft we need to fight.

‘Lord, teach my mind and spirit to war against the subtle deceptions that want to replace the cross in my life; that want to put other centers in place of Jesus. Make me spiritually discerning and alert to pick up where my mind is being attacked and deliver me from the foolishness that comes from believing the lie that someone or something else can provide what the cross did and does in my life. This I ask through Christ. Amen.’
