PURPOSEFUL SEPARATION

Romans 1:1 (NKJV)

“Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God”

As children of God and servants of Christ, we are intentionally and deliberately separated from the world, unto the gospel of God. Paul’s first definition of his apostleship was that he was separated unto the gospel of God. As slaves of Christ, our primary task is to live by and live for the proclamation of the message of Christ. There is no other priority message that we should carry or promote.

The slave of Christ is a promoter of the message of God. He lives the message. He breathes the message. He dreams the message. His greatest joys are when he has opportunity to make the message of His Lord known to men. This was Paul’s calling and his motivation; this was why God had separated him to Himself, and what a revelation this was. As chosen by God and servants of Christ, we are likewise separated to the gospel of God, and we are called to share that message with the men and women God brings to us. While we live on this earth, we have been purposefully separated to this task.

“Lord Jesus, I know I have been separated to this task of making You known. I am often pressured to be separated to other causes, but I am reminded again today that I have been separated to You and to this task. Help me be faithful to this Lord. Amen.”
