WHAT’S THE GOSPEL OF GOD?

March 11, 2019

Romans 1:1-3 (NKJV)

“…separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ…”

The gospel of God is the message of God’s redeeming love for mankind and perfected in the manifestation of the Christ. The gospel of God is the ongoing outreach of God to lost humanity, but the redemption of man from lostness cannot be done outside the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. The prophets prophesied it and scriptures spoke about it, and it has become a reality. Christ is the fulfillment and the culmination of the message of God.

Unfortunately, however, not all sections of God’s people are satisfied with Christ being the focal point of the message of God. Today, there are all forms of emphasis in the message of God that seem to leave Christ out of the center stage. Christ is not a means to an end. Christ is not an appendage to the message of God. Christ, is the message of God. I repeat, Jesus Christ is the gospel of God.

“Father, teach us to center our thoughts, our passions and our messages around Christ. There is no greater gospel, no greater message than the coming of Christ to Mankind. Take us back to this central theme. In Jesus name. Amen.
