Romans 1:5 (NLT)
“…so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.”
It is God’s will that all peoples hear the gospel, believe the gospel and obey Jesus, but that is not the end goal of preaching Christ to the nations. The end purpose and central core for all that we do, is to bring glory to God. All ministry and all activities of the Saints are meant to bring Him glory.
The biggest question we need to be asking ourselves therefore is, “Does this bring Glory to God or to someone else?” If what I do brings Him glory, then I am in the will of God; If it doesn’t bring Him glory, then I am outside His will. The final litmus test of all I do must be around this one question. Simplify your life by centralizing all activities, and test all motivations around this question. If I direct all my goals in life to align with bringing God glory, then my life has found purpose in God. If I am busy for God, for humanity or for myself without consciously working all things to bring Him glory, then I am irrelevant to the core of what God wants to do in my generation.
“Lord, may the thoughts of my heart and the actions of my life be to bring glory to You and You alone, in Jesus name. Amen.”
