THANKING CORRECTLY

March 17, 2019

Romans 1:8 (NKJV)

“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.”

We are called to always be thankful. There are many reasons why we need to be thankful; simply look carefully at your life and you will find ample opportunities where God has done something amazing in your life. That you can even read this and understand what it says, is a wonder in itself. But inasmuch as we need to be thankful, we need to be thankful in the correct way.

Firstly, all thanksgiving must be directed firstly to God. To be thankful to men or systems or any other earthly channel of blessing is very wrong. God will use men and things but if any good comes to you, you need to see that God was behind it. Don’t misappropriate God’s glory by giving His praise to someone or something else. Secondly, correct thanksgiving is through Jesus Christ. Thanksgiving that is not sanctioned and approved and channeled through Christ, is totally unacceptable to God. Only in Christ and by Christ, can we truly give God thanks. Put Jesus in the middle of your thanksgiving and see Him as the vehicle of thanksgiving to God. Amen.

“Oh God Almighty, You have been a wonderful Father, and I have and I am still truly enjoying Your Fatherhood. Because of Christ, I am enveloped in Your myriad of blessings, and for this, I am eternally grateful to You, through Christ. Amen.”
