1 Samuel 2:3 (NKJV)

“Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.”

Only the empty man makes himself to be something or somebody. The man who truly understands himself never boasts about himself. Those who speak proudly and arrogantly are those earmarked for death because they have lost the sensitivity of their own identity and limitations. Why make yourself proud when you are just a leaf in the wind? Why speak highly of yourself, as though all that makes you proud were not given to you?

Because God is the God who knows all things and sees all things, we need to stay humble and dependent. He knows us, and all we have is from Him. We are nothing without Him. One of the greatest wickedness we can do is to be proud and to be arrogant. God knows us, and He will detest us for so doing. Stay simple. Think simple. Live simple. Love simplicity. God is weighing your heart and your actions on His scale of truth. Never forget this.
