Psalms 18:29,32,34 (NKJV)
‘For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall…It is God who arms me with strength…He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.’
Following God does not make you a weakling and a worm. You are a worm and a weakling without God, but in God, you have the Almighty on your side. By God and in God, you are more than a conqueror. In God and by God, you are a terror to your enemies. In God, you are armed with strength to break and to overcome the troops of hell, to scale every wall of opposition.
Don’t think following God makes you an easy prey to every work of wickedness. Don’t think that humility means you don’t have the right to stand for righteousness. Don’t think that depending on God means you let God fight while you sleep. God will make you fight. You will bend bows of steel. You will be valiant. You will be strong. God isn’t raising wimpy kids. He’s raising warriors who know what it means to stand for truth and defend righteousness.
Don’t ever give excuses for not fighting in the spirit. Confront evil also in every form, without using the weapons of the evil one. Stand for truth and justice. Don’t sit there wimpy, waiting for God to do everything. Get involved by His mighty power at work in you and He will work through you.
‘O thank you, Lord, for this understanding today. I was beginning to believe that the consecrated life meant I needed to be wimpy, silent and always vulnerable. Now I know that through God and in God’s way, I am meant to stand strong and act strong in God and for God. Strength is of God and they who humble themselves in God are strong in God. Amen.’
