Psalms 12:6-7 (NKJV)
‘The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.’
The words of the Lord are pure. They build up. They strengthen. They promote God and His will on earth. The Word of the Lord is not vile and corrupt; it does not promote self and selfishness. It is not rude or divisive. It builds harmony around the truth and confronts anything that is not in line with Truth.
God will preserve His words. In the midst of much attempt to adulterate God’s words, it cannot fail because it is under the custody of God Himself. God’s Word has been tried and tested. God’s Word is living and active and it works in the hearts and minds of men; from one generation to the next. God’s Word is refined and ready for use.
If we be in God and God indeed lives in us, then the words we speak must meet the same high and tested standards of the words of God. Do they?
‘Lord, thank you for preserving your word, even unto this generation. Preserve it yet for future generations, even according to your faithfulness. Teach us to see and receive and embrace this pure Word that does not change. Arise to make your Word real in my heart today. And may the words that proceed from my heart, meet the same high quality test of your eternal Word. This I plead in Jesus name. Amen.’
