Romans 1:8 (NKJV)
“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.”
What will you be remembered for? What do people think about when your name is mentioned? What is the aroma you give people when they have met with you? For some people, it is their relationship skills, or their spiritual gifts, or their oratory prowess, or their bible knowledge. There could be a number of good things people can remember us for, but one of the most important things is that we should be remembered for our faith in God.
The believers in Rome were not remembered for their doctrinal expertise or any other great work; they were remembered because of their great faith in God. NLT says of the Roman Church, “your faith in Him is being talked about all over the world.” May we be a church that people identify as having great love and faith in Christ. May all our actions demonstrate our deep convictions of Christ. May our faith in Christ come through in all our daily encounters with men, in every situation and every context. May our testimony be so clear, that nobody can ever be in doubt about where our primary allegiance and loyalty lie.
“Lord, I want to wear my faith on my sleeves. On no account Lord, may I hide my open and lavish faith in You. May this be one of the very first things people get to know about me once they meet me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
