ADMONISH WITH HUMILITY

April 2, 2019

Romans 2:1-2 (NKJV)

“Therefore you are inexcusable, O man…for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth…”

Only God’s judgement is really correct and accurate because only God sees and knows all things. Only God can freely and confidently talk about the darkness in Man because He is “inapproachable light”, in whom there is no darkness. God is God and Man is Man. God is complete, full of truth, full of righteousness, with no weakness whatsoever; but we are not like that. We have our frailties, our failures, our struggles, our stumblings and our weaknesses.

For this reason, let us be careful about judging others. It is irresponsible and the height of spiritual insensitivity, to judge people for the very things that we are also guilty of. We mustn’t judge men as hypocrites. Don’t talk down on men and make people feel that you are perfect and they are not. Only God is fully perfect and we are all on the journey to perfection, even as we are perfect in Christ. So admonish and correct your struggling brothers, with much humility, carefulness and love, knowing that you yourself are one of them in the struggle for righteousness.

“Lord, only You are perfect and true. Use me to exhort and encourage my brothers, but give me the heart of humility and understanding knowing that I also am in need of and a recipient of grace. Amen.”
