THE FRUIT OF STUBBORNESS

April 4, 2019

Romans 2:5 (NKJV)

“But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,”

The judgement of God is righteous & justified, not because Men sinned against God, but because in their hardness and impenitent hearts, they refused to repent. Why do we find it so hard to repent and turn away from the very things that will bring us judgement? Why don’t we see that God takes no pleasure in judging man?

Those who escape the judgement of God are those who are wise and understand the heart of God. Knowing that God derives no pleasure from causing us pain or cutting us off from Himself, we need to actively cooperate with Him as He nudges us and brings convictions to our hearts. The Spirit of God is still speaking and showing us where we need to make amends, and once we utilize His grace to make the needed changes, then we are good to go. Stubbornness will be our greatest undoing, and we need to fight this indiscipline if we will escape the righteous anger of God.

“Lord, make my heart soft and quick to respond to You. Deliver me from the stubborn and impenitent heart. In Jesus name. Amen.”
