EXPECT IT

Psalms 4:2 (NKJV)

‘How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood?’

There are two things we must always expect from the sons of men; an expectation that is sure and we must prepare for them.

The first is that they will work to turn your glory into shame. Out of jealousy, rivalry or mere wickedness- men will take that which you have done that is good and try to make a mockery out of it. More so, since you stand for Jesus and He is your glory, they will try to smear you for the sake of that glory. Secondly, expect that the children of men will not love what is worthy and true but prefer falsehood. Because they are the children of deceit, they will not bear truth nor stand for truth, but rather chase after things that have no eternal value and things that cannot stand before Him who is Truth.

As a child of heaven, may I never be taken by surprise by the acts of the sons of men and may I never be caught drinking from the same dregs from which they drink. Even as they pursue me and seek to bring me shame, I will stand true to whom I believe in and what I believe. I am who I am and they are who they are. Once I expect their actions, it reduces the pain of it.

Expect falsehood and deceit and treachery. Failure to expect these will be your undoing and may lead to your downfall.

‘Lord, deliver me from evil and false men. But more importantly, may I never pursue and live by the same worthless and hypocritical standards that they live by, in order to conform to their association. Even if they turn all my glory to shame, I will not be false but stay truthful to the One who is true Value and Worthy of all my praise and obedience. I will not change for the sakes of the sons of men. So help me God. Amen.’
